Okay so I realize that this is a much later post then normal.
Well, it’s a free country right? And I have a life. Sometimes.
So yes, today’s post is a little bit on the late side.
And maybe that’s a good thing to address at this point in time. I mean the choosing to do things when it works for you thing.
Of course it’s important to follow through on things that you had promised to do or are obligated to do. That’s not what I’m talking about here.
That aside, as the owner of a business you get to choose how it runs. Actually, you get to choose all aspects of it. Every single thing. From the font that’s used on all your branding materials to the kind of toilet paper you want to wipe your you-know-what, it’s all yours for the deciding.
And hopefully that’s an exciting experience to have.
At times it can be almost paralyzing with how much you have to pick and choose.
But that is one of the parts of being a human being. Making decisions and stuff. We all have to do it. Everybody poops. Everybody also has to be their own person too.
Take for example, my decision today to publish my blog post a lot later then it usually goes up. I’m not planning on that being a regular occurrence, but once in awhile I’m going to live a little. It’s not going to hurt anyone (try not to hold your breath over it) and I’m exercising a right to make decisions in my day-to-day workflow.
So today I adjusted to accommodate different changes to my schedule and it seems to have worked out well. No one’s losing their mind over it.
Take today’s post as a sign to start making some decisions.
I like to make adult decisions. Like dealing with all those clothes I don’t ever wear that sit in the back of my closet. Or cleaning out my pantry or buying a spice rack. Today I went to Target and bought a shelf unit and even managed to put it all together without wanting to yell obscenities to strangers. (I was sick of building things at this point, I had already done: a desk, chair, and tv stand from Ikea the previous weekend.)
Not sure where you’re at in your business? Well sit down and figure it out. Forreals stop what you’re doing and do that. Figure out where you want your business, your life, and your level of self to go in the next year. Or at least the next half a year.
What are some ways that you can improve on what you’ve got going on now?
Put on your big girl (and boy) pants and accept it.
You’re an adult.
P.S. If you or someone you know is very indecisive, let them know that. Oh, and you can show them this post as well.
