Okay so I definitely wasn’t able to blog yesterday. And I’m sad about it
Granted I was working most of the day. But still. Timeliness is important dammit!
It’s officially November. Now that’s scary to me. I know Halloween is over now but today is the Day of the Dead right? So we can still celebrate some?! I also love zombie movies. And not just around Halloween, all the time. Which in turn though as inspired a new obsession with diving a bit deeper into the horror movie genre overall.
What truly scares me about some horror movies is that it could be very real. Like something that could or has happened in real life.
It’s a good time to explore the dark side. That doesn’t mean you go out and actually join the dark side or terrorize anyone but it’s a chance to deepen an understanding of something different.
What has “the dark side” (I’ve been re-watching Star Wars) taught me?
Explore your fears.
Ultimately conquering them in the process. Or at the very least, figuring out what they are. Maybe looking into why some things scare you and others don’t. Maybe you’ll start to become more comfortable with fear. To let it teach you and not hinder you. The best thing you can do is make sure you have the right gear (weapons) and the right mindset (plus a regular cardio routine) to outrun the zombies that chase you.
Dive into the unknown.
And being okay with it. It’s scary not knowing what might happen or what may lie ahead. But a part of life is being able to push through regardless. Cause either way stuff is still going to happen. Good stuff, bad stuff, mysterious paranormal stuff. Ghosts continuously haunting you cause they’re still around and not been dealt with stuff.
Learn something new about yourself.
Facing your fears and dealing with things head-on is tough to implement but much more rewarding than say running upstairs and hiding in the closet when the killer is chasing you. Your limits are tested, you become more resourceful, and staying cool under pressure is key.
You never know if/when demonic forces possess your body and someone is forced to destroy you to save humanity. Or if your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and the only help around is the sketchy looking attendent at a gas station from the 60’s.
You know, just normal stuff.
